On the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, a Maruti Baleno car dragged a girl named Anjali for 13 km in Kanjhawala, Delhi. Anjali died on the spot in this horrific road accident. Shah Rukh Khan's NGO Meer Foundation has announced to help the family of 20-year-old girl Anjali Singh. A source revealed in a media interaction that Shah Rukh Khan's Meer Foundation has donated an undisclosed amount to Anjali Singh's family. Anjali was the sole earner of the family which includes her mother and siblings. The source has said that Foundation has donated this amount for Anjali's mother's health problems, giving relief to her siblings.

This noble initiative taken by the actor's Meer Foundation has also started getting a lot of praise on social media. Even before this, this foundation has helped many needy people. Shah Rukh Khan also founded the Meer Foundation as a philanthropic foundation named after his father Meer Taj Mohammad Khan. This NGO works to create a world that empowers women. Some reports also say that Shah Rukh Khan's NGO did this so that his soon-to-be-released film Pathaan could get a good response.
