Mumbai: Eknath Shinde, the leader of Shiv Sena's rebel faction, has become the CM of Maharashtra after the BJP's support. At the same time, former Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis has been sworn in as deputy CM. NCP chief Sharad Pawar's reaction to Eknath Shinde becoming the Chief Minister has come to the fore.
The same Sharad Pawar, while addressing the press, said that no one had imagined that the Chief Minister of Maharashtra would be Eknath Shinde. Pawar said that perhaps there will be such a demand from the rebel MLAs, only then Shinde get the chief minister's chair. Speaking about Eknath Shinde, Pawar said he is very popular in Thane. He's done a good job there too. However, his native village is in the Satara district. Pawar said Maharashtra's first CM Yashwantrao Chavan was also from Satara.
Let us tell you that BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had forwarded the name of Eknath Shinde due to the press conference. He had said that the new CM of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde will be made. At that time, Fadnavis had kept himself out of the new government. It was clearly stated on their part that they would not join this Government. However, within a few hours, the equation changed again and Devendra Fadnavis became the deputy chief minister of the state. It was reported that it was BJP President JP Nadda who worked to convince Fadnavis. He himself spoke to Fadnavis and asked him to join the government.
