Despite having health problems, veteran actress Sharda looked bright as she visited Memory Lane during her chat session at the ongoing International Film Festival Kerala (IFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram. The two-time National Award winner talked about her films and political career but seemed happiest in the answer as to who was among the trio of her favorite co-stars Madhu, Prem Nazir, and Satyan. She began by saying that they all led a simple life and never bragged about their fame. “I started my career in Malayalam cinema with him. Sathyan Sir used to address me by name Sharu and was a soft-hearted person to those who knew him better. He worked in the police department before becoming an actor and, therefore, everyone was afraid of him.

But later I came to know that he was the heart of butter and was a helpful man, she said, adding that Sharda testified this with an incident. “Years ago, I wanted to buy a car with the money I made and finalized a second-hand car for around Rs 30,000. But I only had 20,000 rupees and I was feeling sad. At that time, I was doing a film with Satyan Sir. Seeing me moody, he asked me what happened. At first, I hesitated, but then told him the reason. Satyan sir immediately told me that he would lend me 10,000 the next morning so that I could buy my car. I paid him back soon, but even today when I think of buying a new car, Satyan sir comes to my mind".

The actress, who was the top heroine of Mollywood in the late 60s and early 70s, also talked about the favored side of Prem Nazir. "Regardless of who that person is, whoever talks with Nazir sir about their grief and problems, he will listen to them patiently." He later called them to his side and gave them money without any hesitation. He always took pity for the underprivileged. Talking about her co-star Madhu, she says," he has a good sense. Madhu sir narrates rib-tickling jokes and makes us laugh while he keeps a straight face. He often tried to see the smile on everyone's face. He also said that the late actor Bahadaru used to call her mole Sharu.
