Market closed flat due to profit-booking, upsurge in shares of these companies

New Delhi: The Indian stock market has closed almost flat on the last day of the week. However, after being in decline for the whole day, the market saw a great recovery in the last half hour, due to which the Nifty and the Sensex have closed up. The Sensex has gained 14 points to close at 38855, while the Nifty has closed at 11464 with a slight gain of 15 points. Bank Nifty has also seen the strength of 14 points.

Although the market was under the pressure of profit-booking throughout the day, yet, in the case of a sectoral index, IT, FMCG and realty stocks have been recorded buying. The IT index rose more than 1 per cent today. There has also been a slight rise in metals, banking and pharma. 21 stocks of Nifty climbed and the remaining 29 stocks closed down. 10 stocks of Sensex have been rising, the remaining 20 stocks have registered a decline.
