At 9.35 am on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week, the Bombay Stock Exchange's major index Sensex was trading at 40,628.77, down 22.87 points, or 0.06 per cent. On one hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,986.15 levels after falling 12.97 points, or 0.11 per cent.


Talking about the big stocks, the shares of G Ltd, L&T, IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, SBI and Infosys were trading on green mark around 9.35 am. On the other hand, the stocks of declining giants, these include Infratel, BPCL, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Britannia, Gail, Grasim, Ultratech Cement, Reliance and Yes Bank.

Sectoral index tracking
If we look at the sectoral index, during this time FMCG, metal and private banks were on the red mark. IT, Auto, Realty, Pharma, PSU Bank and Media were on the green mark.

This was the condition of the stock market during the pre open
The stock market was at the green mark at 9:02 am during the pre open. The Sensex was up 62.36 points, or 0.15 per cent, at 40,714. On one hand, the Nifty was at 12,027.10 levels after gaining 28 points, or 0.23 per cent.

Rupee opened at 71.83 level
The rupee opened flat at 71.83 level today against the dollar. On one side, the rupee had closed at 71.81 against the dollar on the previous trading day.

The market was open with an increase on the previous trading day
The stock market opened in the last trading day. The Sensex opened at 40,588.16 after gaining 118.46 points, or 0.29 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty opened at 11,981.90 after gaining 41.80 points, or 0.35 per cent.

Sensex closed at 40,651.64 on Wednesday
The stock market closed with a gain on the previous trading day. The Sensex closed at 40,651.64 after gaining 181.94 points, or 0.45 per cent. On one hand, the Nifty closed at 11,999.10 after gaining 59 points, or 0.49 per cent.
