Stock market at historic high, Sensex crossed 57,700, investors gain Rs 1 lakh crore

New Delhi: The domestic stock market opened at a record high on Wednesday on signals from global markets for the third consecutive day today. The Sensex crossed 57,780 and the Nifty crossed 17,190 in early trade today. Heavyweightaxis Bank, Reliance, L&T, and ICICI Bank rose to a record new level of 57,783.34 Sensex in early trade. Meanwhile, the Nifty crossed 17,190. Investors gained more than Rs 1 lakh crore in early trade in the market.

The market rose for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, and the 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 662.63 points, or 1.16 percent, to close at a record 57,552.39 points. During trading, it had reached a high of 57,625.26 points. It was just two days before the Sensex reached a close of 56,000 to 57,000 points. The Nifty also gained 201.15 points, or 1.19 percent, to an all-time high of 17,132.20. The record jumped to 17,153.50 points during trading.

Investors have gained more than Rs 1 lakh crore in early trade. The total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies on Tuesday was Rs 2,50,02,084.01 crore, which rose by Rs 1,44,518.23 crore to Rs 2,51,46,602.24 crore on Wednesday.
