On the first day of the week, on the lines of the Asian common market, the Indian stock markets also saw a boom. NSE's Nifty50 was seen to be trading at 11,409.90 with an increase of 208.15 points in early trade. Sensex of BSE recorded an increase of 763.18 points i.e. 1.99%. Along with this, Tech Mahindra, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra present in the Sensex saw a decline. Among the companies in Nifty50 which recorded the highest gains were Vedanta (4.21%), INFRATEL (3.75%), ICICI Bank (3.64%), Coal India (3.53%) and Hindalco (3.37%).

Dollar vs Rupee
Today, the rupee has started strongly against the dollar. The rupee opened at 72.07 with a strong strength of 11 paise per dollar. It had lost 63 paise to close at 72.18 against the dollar in the last trading session. On Monday, almost all the Asian stock markets were seen trading in the early trade. Some Benchmark indices were down by 10% in the last week in view of the effect of Coronavirus on global trade. Japan's Nikkei 225 was seen trading at 1.1% and Hang Seng gained by 0.70% on Monday. China's Shanghai Composite Index also recorded a jump of 2.7%.

Global market collapses last week
Last week saw a huge drop in global markets. The S&P 500 fell 11% in the US, while Dow Jones recorded a decline of 12%. The FTSE index of Britain was broken by 11% and DAX of Germany by 12%. The Asian stock market saw a decline of 8% in KOSPI of South Korea, 4% in Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index and 10% in Japan's Nikkei.
