Lucknow:  Acharya Pramod Krishnam, the Congress Lucknow’s candidate accused actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha of not following “party dharma” and claimed that he is taking politics “lightly”. He said that it is the large-heartedness of Congress President Rahul Gandhi that he gave respect to Sinha but the latter should also give respect to the party. While speaking to ANI Mr. Krishnam said, “Rahul Gandhi joined Shatrughan Sinha’s rally as he was following 'party dharma' but he (Sinha) didn't follow it. Politics is related to India's future, there should be sensibility.”

This is not the first time that he took a dig at actor-turned-politician. Earlier, he had slammed him for campaigning for his wife Poonam, who is the Samajwadi Party candidate from Lucknow.

"Shatrughan Sinha is a senior politician and he should understand the norms and dignity of politics. He did not even visit the Congress office -- but visited the SP office -- and has been singing paeans to SP-BSP leaders. I would certainly want the party high command to take note of this," IANS quoted him as saying.

Taking to his Twitter handle Pramod Krishnam wrote, “From the behavior of Shatrughan Sinha, it appears that although he has joined the Congress, but has not yet resigned from the RSS.”

Responding to Krishnam’s statement Mr. Sinha said that as the head of the family and a husband it was his duty to support his family.

The spiritual guru and head of Kalki Peeth in Sambhal district, later said that he didn't need Sinha to campaign for him from Lucknow saying that he trusts the people of the capital more than anyone else. Lucknow will witness a triangular contest between the Congress, Bhartiya Janta Party, and the Samajwadi Party.
