The career of actress Shefali Shah has, as one may say, seen a renaissance in recent years. After appearing in a few roles here and there during the 2000s, Shah has been able to take center stage in some of the best movies and web series. A very successful year for the actor was 2022, when she acted in five noteworthy films, including Human, Jalsa, Darlings, Doctor G, and Delhi Crime 2.

But for those who grew up in the 1990s, the strongest memory of Shah's performance could be her brief but significant part in Satya. She had a complete arc in the brief amount of screen time she had as Bhiku Mhatre's wife. Additionally, during her brief appearance, she co-starred with Manoj Bajpayee's Bhiku Mhatre in one of the greatest songs ever written, Sapne Mein Milti Hai.

Although Shefali Shah has gone a long way in her 29-year career, one of her most well-known songs is still Sapne Mein Milti Hai from her first movie Satya. Sapne Mein Milti Hai was sung by Shefali Shah and Manoj Bajpayee in the 1998 Ram Gopal Varma movie. Asha Bhosle and Suresh Wadkar sang the song, which was composed by Gulzar. The song's composition was done by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Talking about the song, Shefali told in an interview, “It’s a lovely song, there’s no debate [about it]. [But] people play it to annoy me, my friends would do that. Every time I went anywhere, they’ll start playing this song and then they went on to Gallan Goodiyaan. I was like, ‘Guys, calm down, seriously time out."

When Shefali performed the lead part of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the 2019 Netflix series Delhi Crime, she had tremendous success as an actor.  Doctor G, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh, features a senior gynecologist. She received significant accolades for her work in Darlings, in which she co-starred with Alia Bhat as the parallel lead.
