Bangalore: On Tuesday morning, a ship hit a fishermen's boat on the Mangaluru coast of Karnataka, after which 12 fishermen aboard the boat are said to be missing. The Coast Guard has said that 14 fishermen went into the sea riding in the ISB 'Rabah' boat. The boat took off from Beypore near Kozhikode in Kerala. He said that two fishermen have been traced in them, but 12 fishermen are still missing.
The Coast Guard tweeted that, "ICG ships and aircraft have been deployed by the Coast Guard to find 14 fishermen aboard the IFB Rabah in New Mangaluru, about 43 nautical miles west today at around 2.30 am. Two fishermen have been identified and the search for the remaining 12 is on". These fishermen were from Tamil Nadu, Bengal, and Odisha. According to the information, 7 fishermen were from Tamil Nadu and the rest were from other states.
They have told that the boat has been badly damaged in this accident. The ship that has crashed is said to be a cargo ship from Singapore. The ship is owned by a Singapore company called IPL. Coast Guard ships and helicopters have been dispatched to the spot and operations have been intensified to find the missing fishermen.
