New Delhi: The Shiromani Akali Dal has announced a 'dharna' at CM Amarinder Singh's official residence on June 15. The dharna will demand an inquiry into the alleged Fateh Kit CBI scam in addition to the chief minister's demand for the dismissal of health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu immediately.

Fateh Kit contains a pulse oximeter, a thermometer, face mask, a steamer, sanitizer, vitamin C, zinc tablets and some other medicines for corona infected patients. According to the information received, during the dharna, the Akali Dal will also demand that the land being acquired for the National Highway in the state be acquired at market price as well as displacement compensation to the farmers.

Confirming this, party spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said that Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal will lead the strike outside the CM's residence and will include core committee and political affairs committee members, MLAs, former MLA, constituency in-charge, district collectors and youth functionaries including senior party leadership. Cheema said that the "vaccine scam" and the "Fateh Kit scam" had shaken the conscience of Punjabis during the epidemic, while the scam has hurt the public at a time when people were dying of the disease.
