The month of Sawan is going on. Great things are proved by worshiping Shiva in the month of Sawan. There are many stories related to Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan which should be heard. Today we are going to tell you the story related to Goddess Narmada and Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan.

Mythology - The river Narmada is called the daughter of Lord Shiva because of this she is called Shankari. For public welfare, Lord Shankar went to Maikal Hills to do penance. At that time a pool was formed on this mountain with the drops of his sweat. It is said that a girl was born from this pool and her name was Shankari ie Narmada. Shiva ordered that she would flow like a river in a large area of the country, doing Rav (voice). Due to Rav, one of its names is also called Reva. It is also known as Maikalsuta due to originating on Maikal Hills.

Another legend - King Hiranyateja of the Chandra dynasty realized that his ancestors were unpatriotic while offering them to the ancestors. He did penance to Lord Shiva and made him incarnate Narmada on earth as a boon. Lord Shiva ordered Narmada to stay flowing on the Magh Shukla Saptami as a form of water on the public welfare earth. On asking Narmada brides, Lord Shiva blessed every stone of Narmada to worship like a Shivalinga and also gave this boon that a man will attain virtue only through your philosophy. We celebrate this day as Narmada Jayanti. On Narmada Jayanti, in addition to Jabalpur, there is a crowd of devotees on the Narmada shores. In Amarkantak, Mandla, Hoshangabad, Nemawar, and Omkareshwar, a large number of devotees are seen at the ghats of Narmada River who come there to see the Narmada River.
