Shivraj Singh Chouhan Denounces Congress, Branding it as an "Endangered" Party

Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, criticized the Congress party during a press conference in Bhopal on Friday. He referred to the Congress as an "endangered" entity and dismissed their claims about democracy and the Constitution being in danger, asserting that it's the Congress party itself that is facing endangerment.

Chouhan highlighted what he perceived as a downward trajectory for the Congress. Reflecting on past events, Chouhan posed questions about the Congress' track record during the Emergency era, particularly targeting the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's regime. He questioned who was responsible for constitutional breaches and the suppression of democracy during that period.

Chouhan reiterated the BJP's commitment to upholding the law, emphasizing that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, any wrongdoing would be met with legal consequences. He emphasized the party's stance against impunity for political figures. Chouhan also criticized recent statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, particularly his remarks suggesting dire consequences if the BJP were to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He questioned whether such statements aligned with the Congress' vision and whether Sonia Gandhi endorsed Rahul's stance.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Chouhan will contest from the Vidisha parliamentary constituency. The elections for this seat are scheduled for the third phase on May 7, alongside seven other parliamentary seats in Madhya Pradesh. The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh are slated to be held across the first four phases of the seven-phase election, scheduled for April 19, April 26, May 7, and May 13.
