Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has withdrawn his statement on the meetings of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and underworld don Karim Lala. Friday's editorial of the party's mouthpiece 'Saamana' has also been written, in which the party has tried to explain that former PM Indira Gandhi has been the ideal and underworld don like Karim Lala was such that Big international celebrities also used to meet.

In fact, Raut has upset the ally Congress with his statement, has put such an issue in the hands of the anti-BJP that now the Shiv Sena is looking for an escape from this issue in some way. In the same sequence, it has been claimed in 'Saamana' that the Maratha ruler after whom the party is named, he never took political advantage.

It is written in Saamana that Shiv Sena never used the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or former PM Indira Gandhi for political gains. The party has written in an editorial in the mouthpiece Saamana that it has always respected Indira Gandhi, whom the newspaper described as a huge and powerful figure. The party claims that the Shiv Sena acted as a shield whenever it tried to tarnish its image.
