Mumbai: Shiv Sena will contest 50 seats in Bihar assembly elections this time. Talking to media, party Rajya Sabha member Anil Desai said Shiv Sena will participate in elections without any alliance. Desai said Shiv Sena is not aligned with any party in Bihar elections and will be candidates for about 50 seats.
We have fielded candidates in the fray in areas where our cadres have been involved in public work, "Desai said. He said Shiv Sena's symbol in this election will be 'man blowing tura '. He said, the election commission had earlier barred Shiv Sena from using its party symbol ' bow and arrow ' as it matched JDU's symbol ' arrow ' in Bihar assembly elections.
On questioning about the programme of Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray for campaigning in Bihar, Desai said that the party and cm will be briefed on the same. Shiv Sena releases 22 leaders on Thursday who will campaign in Bihar. In addition to Uddhav Thackeray, his son and Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray are also included in the list.
