Just few days are left to world cup and all teams are preparing hard to bag the trophy. Pakistan is being regarded as the dark horses for the 2019 World Cup and the form which they have shown in the ongoing five-match ODI series against England is surely uplifting. Pakistan have some exciting talent with a brilliant mixture of experience and young legs and former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has named Haris Sohail as the ‘smartest cricketer’ in the Pakistani squad.
Former pacer praised Sohail for having a smart brain to adjust to the English conditions. Business Recorder quoted Akhtar saying, “Sohail is the pick of the selection from this [current] lot of Pakistani cricketers because he can construct an inning, take single-doubles, hit big hundreds and has the brain as well to adjust to the conditions.”
Akhtar also admitted the fact that Sohail has been troubled a lot due to knee injuries in the past and related to having similar injuries during his playing career. He said, “The only drawback of Sohail is his knees, I once asked him regarding this problem and he told me that he has a genuine problem with his knees like I [Akhtar] used to have. But he is the smartest and most talented cricketer that fits in the middle order, but he is not able to get fit in as other players need to be adjusted.”
