NEW DELHI: In a shocking report, a nonagenarian woman was allegedly beaten to death by her 30-year-old grandson in Delhi's Rohini vicinity,  official said on Tuesday, February 14.

The incident took place on February 12. The deceased has been identified as Raisa (90), a resident of Prem Nagar in Rohini, said the official.  It is also reported that her grandson, Shahrukh has been arrested by the police.

A senior police officer said that the Prem Nagar police station received a report about a murder, and as a result, a police squad was sent to the scene.

"On the spot, Raisa was found dead lying in a room, lying in a room. At the scene of the crime, the crime team was contacted, and evidence was collected. There were no visible external injuries on the deceased's body upon initial investigation, "the official mentioned.

"The dead body was kept in the SGM Hospital mortuary. A case has been filed under sections 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing harm), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code based on the statement made by Raisa's son and the doctors' conclusions following an autopsy. Shahrukh has been detained in connection with the case "the official said.

"Further investigation is underway," the official added.
