Sholay is one such recipe which is very difficult to resist. This dish is prepared by grinding mutton, moong dal, spinach along with a whole melange of spices, this North Indian recipe is garnished with chopped coriander leaves and is served along red chilli chutney and lemon wedges. Enjoy it
Ingredients of Sholay
1/2 kilograms mutton
100 gm rice
salt as required
1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
1/2 onion
water as required
3 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
100 gm moong dal
1/2 kilograms spinach
3 teaspoon red chilli powder
2 green chilli
4 teaspoon ghee
2 wedge lemon
How to make Sholay
Step 1
First, take mutton, spinach and wash them separately. Chop spinach leaves, trimming its stem. Next, place a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and add ghee, a cup of water, turmeric and red chilli powder along with salt according to your taste.
Step 2
Add mutton and turn the flame to medium-low, let it simmer until the mutton is well cooked. Once done, add spinach, rice, moong dal, chopped green chillies and cook thoroughly until the ingredients turn tender.
Step 3
Once they do, start grinding it to a paste with the help of the back of a ladle. Transfer the cooked mixture to a serving dish. Next, place a pan on medium flame, pour the remaining ghee and fry onions until golden brown.
Step 4
Pour the tempering over the dish. Serve with red chilli chutney, onion, lemon wedges and chopped coriander leaves in order to make it taste all the more flavorful.
