Lord Jagannath has left for exile after Mahasanan on Jyestha Purnima. In fact, for the first time in the morning Mahasanan ritual has been done at Shri Jagannath Temple in Jagannathpur of HEC. According to the information received with it, the main priest of the temple, Pandit Brij Bhushan Nath Mishra, along with others, performed the Mahasanan ritual at the sanctum sanctorum at eight in the morning. In the midst of the Vedic chanting, Lord Maha Jagannath, then sister Subhadra and brother Balabhadra had a Mahasanan ritual before 51 kalash from the water prepared from Sarvoshadhi and Gangajal. Not only this, Lal Praveer Nath Shahdev, the successor of Jagannathpur temple reconstruction committee, became the original.
During the puja, the main gate of the temple was kept closed as before and due to this, devotees from outside could not enter the temple. At the same time there was Maha Aarti after the worship and after this, the doors of the temple were closed. Let us tell you that for the first time in the history of Jagannathpur temple, Maha Jagannath Swami was held in the sanctum sanctorum. Before this, if the tradition is considered, the Deities were enthroned in the bathing pavilion on the front side of the temple and after bathing, a large number of devotees visited the Lord and blessed themselves by joining the Mahaarti.
This time due to the lockdown, the Ranchi Sadar SDO on Thursday directed the temple committee to keep the Deities in place and keep the Mahasanan ritual there. At the same time, Lord Shri Jagannath is going to remain in solitude for 16 days in the sanctum sanctorum for the discharge of folk tradition. During this time, they will be adorned. According to the scriptures, bathing and dressing is secret. This time, the artist will decorate Shri Jagannath Swami and will come out of the sanctum sanctorum on June 22 at 5 pm.
