Lucknow: The land of Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport at his Lucknow residence was on lease to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday in the presence of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. During this time on April 7, CM Yogi said that UP has made the most progress in terms of air connectivity in the last five years in the country. This has been made possible with the guidance of PM Narendra Modi.

A lease agreement has been signed between the Civil Aviation Department of UP and the Airports Authority of India for leasing out 317.855 acres of land taken through the state government for the development of The Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport in Ayodhya to the Airports Authority of India. The airport will come up on 600 acres of land. The estimated cost of this airport being built in Ayodhya is about 525 crores. The work of this airport is going on very fast these days. The airport, which is being developed as an international airport, will operate A321 in the first phase and code-E B777.300 class in the second phase.

CM Yogi has said, "At present, the construction of 10 new airports in UP is going on a war footing. After the construction of the airport at Shri Ayodhya ji and Jewar, UP will have more airports than any state in the country. Uttar Pradesh will be the first state to have five international airports.
