Bengali TV actress Shruti Das has recently lodged a complaint with Kolkata police against lewd comments about her dusky skin on social media. In fact, Shruti has appeared in many Bengali serials to date. She became famous with the Bengali show 'Trinayani' which came out in the year 2019. Recently, Shruti Das said, "For the last two years, there have been lewd comments about the color of her skin but now she cannot tolerate them anymore as more personal attacks have started on her.''

Shruti Das, who plays the lead role in the TV show 'Desher Maati,' said in an interview, "Initially everyone asked me to ignore the trolls and I did the same. But it got worse with time. I am in a relationship with the director of my first TV serial 'Trinayani' and the hate army started making lewd comments after hearing this, questioning my character and talent.'' She further said, "I think if I ignore them more, it will give them reasons to continue this hatred.''

A senior Kolkata Police official said that the matter is under investigation. The official said, "The cyber branch of Kolkata Police has received an emailed complaint from actress Shruti Das regarding online misbehavior which she has faced due to her dusky complexion. The actress said in her complaint that such comments have been made on her since 2019. She has also sent a screenshot of some of the comments made on social media.''
