One of the rising stars from India's under-19 ranks is middle-order batsman Shubman Gill. The Punjab lad has been setting the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup ablaze with some stunning stroke-play. India is unbeaten in the tournament at the moment and a lot of credit for that has to go to Gill's exceptional skills with the bat. The 18-year-old is a right-handed batsman, blessed with immense ball-striking ability. He likes to be aggressive at the crease and doesn't shy away from playing unorthodox shots.

Gill gave a glimpse of his rare talent during India's thumping win over Zimbabwe on Friday. Replicating Virat Kohli's stunning short-arm jab for six in an ODI against England last year, Gill slammed an unbeaten 90 to guide his team to victory. Three-time champions India completed their Group B domination with a comprehensive 10-wicket win over an ill-equipped Zimbabwe in the ICC U-19 World Cup on Friday.

India, who had already sealed a quarterfinal spot with back-to-back wins against Australia and Papua New Guinea in Group B, produced another professional performance to end the league stage unbeaten. Gill, who has a first-class hundred to his name representing Punjab, was in devastating form smashing 14 fours and a six en route his second successive half century. Gill fittingly hit the winning boundary, a straight drive for four.
