New Delhi: Baba Ramdev's company Patanjali is being strongly opposed on Twitter. #ShutdownPatanjali trending on social media on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, #BycottPatanjaliProducts was trending. The reason for the outrage from Twitter users is a statement by Baba Ramdev. Ramdev made a statement in a TV interview about Periyar, Ambedkar and his followers. After this, some people launched a boycott campaign for Patanjali products and gradually it became trending.
In an interview to TV channel, Baba Ramdev had said that Periyar's followers are growing. Periyar says that those who believe in God are fools. God is the greatest devil. Lenin, Marx can never be ideal people for this country. I am a foster of Ambedkar's resolve, but among his disciples are the people who run the concept of natives. I do not favor Dalits. The country should make laws against ideological terrorism. Such content should be removed from social media.
On his statement Hansraj Meena wrote that, 'Dear Ramdev, you have not apologized yet. Do you dare? Where does this courage come from? From power and ruling. Keep in mind, we all know how to make bow down. Periyar, Ambedkar, abusive commentary on Moolnivasi Asmita and we cannot tolerate calling it ideological terrorist. '
