Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah responded to the recent accusations from JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy, stating that he would retire from politics if proven guilty in any "cash for transfer" case involving government officials. Siddaramaiah alleged that such transactions occurred during Kumaraswamy's tenure as Chief Minister. The ongoing verbal exchange comes as Kumaraswamy links a circulated phone conversation between Siddaramaiah and his son Yathindra to allegations of a 'cash for postings/transfer' scam, a claim refuted by the Chief Minister and his son.

Siddaramaiah emphasized that he had not accepted money for transfers during his tenure and challenged anyone to prove otherwise. Despite Kumaraswamy's persistent accusations, Siddaramaiah dismissed them, stating, "Let him tweet a hundred times, I don't want to reply." Kumaraswamy, on X (formerly Twitter), accused Siddaramaiah of outsourcing his Varuna constituency to his son Yathindra, alleging that Siddaramaiah provided undue influence to his son through a Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) post.

The political sparring continues as Kumaraswamy questions the constitutionality of such appointments and accuses Siddaramaiah of compromising the Chief Minister's role. The exchange intensifies with Kumaraswamy raising concerns about the allocation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) responsibilities to Yathindra, dubbing it as "Corrupt Son Of Siddaramaiah." The ongoing controversy highlights the bitter political rivalry between the two leaders, each attempting to gain the upper hand in the public narrative.
