Recently, Siddharth Malhotra spoke openly about a lot of things during an interview given to Mumbai Mirror. Siddharth Malhotra's character in the movie Marjaavaan is similar to the character of the 80s and 90s heroes like megastar Amitabh Bachchan was in Deewaar which looks like an inspiration. During the interview, Siddharth Malhotra said that he grew up watching the films of Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol.

Siddharth also said that before watching the film Deewaar, he had a chance to see Amitabh Bachchan's film Hum, which had a huge impact on him. 6-year-old Siddharth then used to think that Villain's name in the film was Bakhtawar, and Bakhtawar is an abusive word. Siddharth Malhotra revealed that he used to call his cousin by thinking that this is abusive.
