New Delhi: In those regions of Bharat, where the language is not Hindi, the information is written on the government board only in Hindi and English language. In such a situation, the people of that state face difficulties in reading Hindi or English. The matter, which was taken up in the Rajya Sabha during the Zero Hour on Tuesday, was taken up in Rajya Sabha during the Zero Hour for the people to get the correct information through signboards in their area. On this, The Chairman of the Upper House, M. Venkaiah Naidu said that all the government signboards in every state of the country should be written in the mother tongue i.e. regional language.

During the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, AITC MP from West Bengal Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said the government signboards contain only Hindi and information written in the English language, which the local citizens do not understand. Common people in Bangal understand Bangla. He said he has no problem with Hindi and English language, but if there are signboards in the mother tongue itself, it will be easier for people to understand. He also mentioned the metro train, where only Hindi and information in the English language is written on the board.

In view of the seriousness of the matter, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said that the issue is not of Sukhendu Sekhar Roy alone, but of the entire country. In this case, all government signboards (state and central) in each state should first use the mother tongue or the language of the state, only then Hindi or English should be used. Only then will people understand.
