Gangtok: Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has said that the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, wants to increase the income of farmers in every situation. Farmers also have an important role in the country's economy. If the income of farmers does not increase, then there will be no prosperity in the country. That is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India have talked about doubling the income of farmers.

He said that the dream of PM Narendra Modi is to increase the economy of the country to $ 5 trillion by the year 2025. Agriculture and farmers will also contribute a lot in achieving this target. Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad was speaking at a special seminar organized by Assocham, the Confederation of Indian Commerce and Industry, at a hotel in the city on Friday. ASSOCHAM has organized this seminar to give Sikkim's organic food processing an international identity.

Addressing the seminar, the governor further said that Sikkim is the first organic state of the country. Organic farming is done here. Sikkim has shown a new direction to the country in this matter. There is a need to promote organic farming across the country. Farmers work hard and grow crops. But they do not get its fair price. The central government is working towards providing the farmers with a fair price for their crops.
