Dimple Kapadia is one of the renowned actresses of her time but do you know she is also has a teacher Simple Kapadia?  Simple Kapadi was born to Chunnibhai Kapadia and Betty Kapadia. Dimple and Simple had another sister, Reem Kapadia, who died of drug overuse. 

Simple also acted in a couple of movies. She made her debut with Anurodh, opposite her brother-in-law, Rajesh Khanna. Simple's brother-in-law, Rajesh Khanna was nowhere to be seen. It was Rajesh, who had cajoled the director of the film, Anurodh, Shakti Samanta to cast Simple opposite him, for her debut. 

The film flopped because of the chemistry-less romance between the duo Rajesh and Simple. Due to their brother-in-law and sister-in-law relationship, intimate scenes were avoided in the film, which resulted in its failure. It is also said that Simple's involvement with Ranjeet had annoyed Rajesh so much that it led to a cold war between the two men during the shoot of Shomu Mukherji's Chhaila Babu.

After acting, she became a costume designer and designed for actors including Sunny Deol, Tabu, Amrita Singh, Sridevi and Priyanka Chopra. In 1994 she won a National Award for her costume design in Rudaali. She later designed for Indian movies including Rok Sako To Rok Lo and Shaheed.

Simple was first seen in the film Anurodh (1977) with Rajesh Khanna and Vinod Mehra.She played a small role in the love story Ahsaas (1979). She acted with Dev Anand in Lootmaar (1980) and Man Pasand (1980). Simple appeared with Raj Babbar in Dulha Bikta Hai (1982), a movie that looked closely at the dowry system in the Indian society . She was besides a part of the family play Pyaar Ke Do Pal (1986). In 1984 she acted in Chetan Anand's Hum Rahe Na Hum. 

Simple Kapadia had married a Sikh Sardar, Rajinder Singh Shetty in 1992 but it was a short-lived marriage and the couple was blessed with a son, Karan Kapadia, in 1993. Simple was involved with producer, Tutu Sharma, actor, Shekhar Suman and Bollywood's famous villain, Ranjeet. It is reported that Simple had also married Manoj Kaytee in the early '80sSimple Kapadia was diagnosed with cancer in 2006, but continued working despite the pain. She died in a hospital in Andheri, Mumbai on 10 November 2009, aged 51.
