LOS ANGELES:  In her new interview with Vanity Fair, Singer Lizzo talked about wide-ranging topics. She spoke about fatphobia as well as the backlash that she received over spaz controversy.

The Grammy-winning singer admitted, "People have been calling me fat my entire life. But that was the first time I had ever seen a criticism of my appearance, my identity, and my music all rolled into one, and it truly hurt. And if one person says it, then another person says it, it spreads like a f**king virus, the singer of "Truth Hurts" continued. Lizzo complained about the problems associated with being a celebrity, saying that "if enough people start expressing views about you online, it becomes part of your public profile and it's out of your control," reports aceshowbiz.com.

I know I'm not the only one who suffers enormous hatred hurled at them from the internet, the 34-year-old continued. "There are people in high school right now who have a whole high school talking about them, and they don't know how they're going to get through it," she added. Fortunately, Lizzo discovered a means to boost her mood by allowing herself to relate to and uplift those who were in similar circumstances.

"Absolutely, it improved my mood. Screw them! "the performer said.

Lizzo also addressed the criticism she received for using the term "spaz" in her "GRRRLS" track during the conversation.

She claimed to have "never heard it used as a slur against disabled people." The Detroit native said. She went on to say, "My music is all about making me feel good and being true to who I am. I find it offensive to use a slur, although I was unaware that it was one." "I frequently hear the phrase "go off, turn up" among my black friends and in my black circles, particularly in rap tunes. I did not use it as a noun or an adjective but as a verb. I applied it in the way that the black community does" she added.
