Chennai: There is no improvement in the health of noted singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. He has been undergoing hospital treatment since August 5 after being infected with the coronavirus. The hospital has issued a statement on Thursday saying that his condition has become very critical. He is placed on the life support system. The hospital says his health continues to deteriorate.

Chennai's MGM Healthcare has issued a bulletin saying that S. P. Balasubrahmanyam's health has been affected, he is on a life support system. The bulletin states, "S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to MGM Healthcare on August 5. He is still on ECMO and life support. His health has deteriorated in the last 24 hours. His condition is very serious. The team of hospital experts are constantly monitoring his health."

After knowing S. P. Balasubrahmanyam health, South superstar Kamal Haasan rushed to the hospital to meet him. After meeting S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Kamal Haasan said "Life support machines are being used, it can not be said that he is recovering. His condition is fragile. Everyone is praying to God for him." In an earlier tweet, Haasan wrote that there was a time when S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was his onscreen voice.
