NEW DELHI: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed y the Delhi Police to look into accusations made against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

The grapplers have charged the WFI chairman of sexual harassment and intimidation. The continuing demonstration calling for his arrest is now in its 18th day.

On the complaint of the wrestlers, the WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's statement was recorded, and some documents were requested, the Delhi Police said. Denying the accusations made against him, Brij Bhushan. Six police teams, including four female police officers, make up SIT. A ten-person team was organised under the direction of a female DCP.

It is important to note that it took Olympic champions and other accomplished wrestlers to take to the streets and fight for justice in a sportsperson's sexual harassment case.

Assistant Secretary WFI Vinod Tomar allegedly had his statements taped, according to the Delhi Police. In his clarification, Brij Bhushan Sharan requested that some video proof and mobile data be gathered. Brij Bhushan will also be questioned further by the SIT.

To gather evidence, the Delhi Police has dispatched teams to Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Haryana. Additionally, they are collaborating with pertinent organisations, including those from other nations where claims have been made.

The WFI president is accused of sexually abusing multiple female wrestlers, including a minor, and is facing serious accusations. Two FIRs, including one under section 10 of the POCSO act, have been filed by the Delhi Police against the BJP MP.

Bharat Kishan Union Ekta (Azad) has endorsed the protest. Along with this, supporters of the wrestlers on Thursday included members of the Mazdood Adhikar Sangathan in Sonipat and a small group of young people from the Bhagat Singh Youth Union in Maharashtra.

On April 23, the wrestlers made a comeback to the Jantar Mantar protest location, stating that Singh had been accused of sexual harassment by six female wrestlers and a youngster.

After receiving a notice from the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police filed two FIRs on April 28. The wrestlers who are protesting have made it plain that they won't stop till Brij Bhushan is arrested and dismissed as the head of the WFI.
