Guntur: In a tragic incident in Chinna Orampadu, Andhra Pradesh's YSR district, a devastating collision between a bus and a lorry resulted in the death of six people and left more than 20 passengers with severe injuries. The heart-wrenching accident occurred on Saturday when a Road Transport Corporation bus was en route to Chennai and collided with a lorry in the area.

According to a senior police official, four passengers traveling in the bus tragically lost their lives on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while being rushed to a hospital for medical attention. Immediately after the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and swiftly transported all the injured victims to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment, as stated by Rajampeta DSP Chaitanya.

This tragic incident occurred merely a week after another devastating accident in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district. In that accident, a bus plunged into an irrigation canal, claiming the lives of seven individuals and injuring 18 others, including five women. The victims were among the 45 passengers who were on their way from Podili town in Prakasam district to Kakinada in East Godavari district to attend a wedding reception.

According to a repor, the victims of the Chinna Orampadu bus-lorry collision were identified as Abdul Aziz, Abdul Hani, Sheik Rameeza, Mulla Noorjahan, Mulla Jani Begum, and Sheik Sabeena. A senior official revealed that all the victims tragically lost their lives on the spot due to suffocation, as they were crushed under other passengers who fell on them during the collision.

In a separate accident back in May, 15 lives were lost when a passenger bus collided with a lorry in NTR district. The bus, carrying 42 passengers from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, met with the fatal accident, highlighting the need for enhanced road safety measures in the region.
