Skoda Auto India is gearing up for a price increase of approximately 2% starting January 1, 2024. This price correction will be applicable across the entire spectrum of Skoda Auto India's vehicle lineup, encompassing popular models such as the Kushaq SUV, the Slavia sedan, and the Kodiaq luxury 4x4. The rationale behind this price revision is attributed to the escalating supply chain expenses, input costs, and operational expenditures, as outlined in the company's official press statement.
In a strategic move to cater to the Indian market, Skoda Auto India unveiled the new Kushaq in July 2021, which is built upon the all-new MQB-AO-IN platform tailored specifically for the country. Following suit, the Slavia sedan was introduced in April 2022, sharing the same platform. Both these vehicles have garnered international recognition, being exported to regions like the GCC and other right-hand-drive markets. Furthermore, these models are set to spearhead Skoda's foray into the Vietnamese market slated for 2024.
Notably, both the Kushaq and Slavia have achieved a coveted full 5-star safety rating for both adult occupants and child passengers under the more stringent crash test protocols mandated by Global NCAP. Similarly, the Kodiaq has secured a commendable 5-star rating for adult and child safety under Euro NCAP. This achievement underscores Skoda Auto India's commitment to maintaining a 100% fleet of cars that have excelled in rigorous 5-star crash tests.
Demonstrating a commitment to enhancing customer accessibility and service, the company has significantly expanded its network. From 120 customer touchpoints in 2021, Skoda Auto India has increased its presence to encompass over 250 touchpoints by the conclusion of 2023. This expansion aligns with the brand's customer-centric philosophy, aiming to bring its top-notch, class-leading product range closer to customers' reach, as emphasized in the official release.
