Seoul: South Korean President Moon Jae-in will deliver his final New Year's message as the country's leader early next week, according to a top official.
Moon is anticipated to emphasise the importance of national unity in his New Year's message, which will be delivered at 10 a.m. on Monday, according to a source. Moon will have a virtual New Year greeting with heads of government, judiciary, and the National Assembly, as well as prominent lawmakers and business executives, after making the 20-minute speech, according to the official.
Moon, whose single five-year tenure ends in May, has pledged to do everything in his power to ensure a full recovery from the Covid-19 outbreak and economic revival.
On March 9, 2022, the country will hold its presidential election.
