New Delhi: On 10 November in Delhi, small retail traders' organization CAT on Sunday announced a nationwide agitation against e-commerce company Amazon, Flipkart and others. He cited the main reason for these companies consistently violating the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rules. At a National Merchant Conference held in New Delhi under the auspices of CAT, prominent business leaders from 27 states of the country have unanimously committed to wage a strong fight against Amazon, Flipkart and other e-commerce companies.

CAT's National General Secretary Pravin Khandelwal said that this nationwide movement against Flipkart and Amazon will start from 13 November 2019 and will be in motion till 10 January 2020. The movement includes All India Mobile Retailers Association, All India Consumer Product Distributors Federation, Federation of All India Aluminum Utensils Manufacturers, All India Association of Electronics Merchants Association, Toys Association of India, Drug Dealers Association of India, Federation of Electrical Goods and Appliance Association , Federation of Hardware Manufacturers and 40 thousand traders of the country including the Traders Association are to be involved.

General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that while clarifying the outline of the movement, he said that November 13 will be celebrated as 'National Awareness Campaign Day' across the country. The business delegation will submit a detailed memorandum to all the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of the country. On November 20, 'National Protest Day' will be organized in more than 500 cities of the country. It will include all the state capitals. A nationwide picket will be performed on this day, in which around 5 lakh traders are participating. After this, these movements will proceed in many stages.
