New Delhi: In the war over Goa's 'Silly Souls Cafe and Bar', Union Minister Smriti Irani has now launched an attack. He has sent a legal notice to Congress and its leaders to hold a press conference and level the allegations against his daughter, Joysh Irani, in the case. On behalf of Smriti Irani, her advocate has sent notices to the Congress party, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera. The Congress had alleged that it was managed by the Union Minister's family, while the bar had committed fraud to get a liquor licence.
In fact, the entire episode came to light when the Excise Commissioner of Goa issued a show-cause notice to 'Silly Souls Cafe and Bar' for obtaining a liquor licence by flouting rules and procedures. In the complaint filed in this case, it was alleged that the liquor license was issued to the bar even when this bar does not have the license of the restaurant. At the same time, in June, the liquor license was renewed in the name of a man who died in May.
The Congress held a press conference seeking Smriti Irani's explanation on the entire incident. In the evening, the Union Minister had hit back at the Congress' allegations and said, "My daughter is a college student and she does not run any bar. At the same time, he had also announced to send a legal notice to congress leaders for this, which he has sent today. Smriti Irani's lawyer had said in the legal notice- The Congress party held a press conference and said that it does not want to target our client (Smriti Irani) and her family members, but our client and her family should respond to the allegations of corruption. Her 18-year-old daughter, Zoish Irani, runs a restaurant in Goa called 'Silly Souls Cafe and Bar'. At the same time, her daughter, Zoish Irani, has been sent a show cause notice by Goa's excise department.
