Kochi: UHRD Minister Smriti Irani will visit the Dalit student of the RLV college of Music and Fine arts, Tripunithura, who attempted suicide after being humiliated by the activists of student organization.

The Minister decided to go to student home and meet their family in the second week of March and also she will visit RLV college, and interact the friends and teachers of the student.

Meanwhile, the principal of college informed that steps have been taken immediately disbursal of stipend to the Dalit student.

Reportedly, the victim’s family is in the deep financial problem as they didn’t even have money for her study. “She is struggling to complete her degree course as we could not spare enough money for her studies” girl’s mother told. Though the girl is in the final year.

However, Minister raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha recently.
