Bhubaneswar: Police in Odisha have seized over one kilogram of snake venom with a market value of roughly Rs 1.50 crore and detained two people in connection with the seizure, according to police authorities.

The Deogarh district police received reliable information from a source that two people are planning to sell 1 kilo of venom in Tarang village, which is located within the district's Reamal police limits. Police proceeded to Sindurpank in Sambalpur after receiving the information and met the suspected offenders acting as clients. The police discovered two people who had arrived with a glass container containing roughly 1 kilogramme of snake venom, according to officials.

The two, Kailash Chandra Sahu and Ranjan Kumar Padhi, were arrested as a result. A case has been filed against the defendant, and an investigation has begun.
