New Delhi: Indian women's cricket team opening batsman Shefali Verma and newcomer Sneh Rana were named for ICC Player of the Month in the women's category. The announcement made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday did not include any player from the Indian men's cricket team. The two teams India women batsmen will be challenged by England spinner Sophie Pelton for the award.

The award, which is given every month by ICC, was nominated in the men's category by Devon Conway, Quinton de Kock, and Kyle Jemison. Shefali scored 96 in the first innings and 63 in the second innings. In view of his performance, she was named Player of the Match. Shefali also scored 59 runs in ODI matches.
