On October 1, Miles Teller, who is most known for his role in Top Gun: Maverick, made his hosting debut for Saturday Night Live Season 48. After delivering a humorous monologue about how Tom Cruise performed all of his own stunts for his role in Top Gun, Teller took part in several skits, including one where he was the host for "Send Something Normal."

Four male celebrities were challenged in the Send Something Natural comedy to respond to flirtatious Instagram DMs "in a way that is normal." SNL made fun of Adam Levine, the singer for Maroon 5, who has lately made headlines for a cheating scandal. Additionally, the comedy made fun of Armie Hammer, whose DMs allegedly leaked contained images of cannibalistic fetishes.
