Jammu: In Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, the change of weather provided relief from the heat. Meanwhile, there was snowfall in the mountainous region of Kashmir. Due to this, a feeling of coolness has also started in the valley. Here in most parts the day temperature has fallen from normal to 7 to 11 degrees.

In Jammu division too, the rain has given respite from the heat. Katra-Sanjichat helicopter service was affected due to inclement weather and strong winds. The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has also issued a warning of heavy rains in some parts of the state on Wednesday. It is also being predicted that the weather will deteriorate until April 21.

Snowfall has also been seen in the hilly areas of Kupwara, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Zojila, Sonamarg, Machhil Sector, Farkian Top, Razdan Pass, Meenmarg, etc. It is also raining intermittently in other parts of Kashmir, including the summer capital, Srinagar. The daytime temperature in Srinagar has dropped by 5.8 degrees to 15.3 degrees Celsius. The day temperature in Pahalgam was 8.8 degrees Celsius, down 9.4 degrees from normal, and in Gulmarg it was 6.0 degrees Celsius, down 4.7 degrees from normal.

Tuesday in Jammu also started with thunder. It rained several times as the day progressed. The weather had cleared in the evening. Here, the day's temperature has fallen by 0.9 degree to 32.5, and the minimum temperature of the previous night has also been recorded at 20.0 degree Celsius.

It may be mentioned that the daytime temperature in Banihal has fallen by 8.8 degrees to 14.0, in Batote by 6.5 degrees to 16.1, in Katra by 1.6 degrees to 28.6, and in Bhaderwah by 6.7 degrees to 17.2 degrees Celsius. The daytime temperature in Leh has also been recorded at 15.2 degrees Celsius. Kathmandu district has seen a drop in temperature due to rain. In Rajori and Poonch districts, the weather remained clear after rain in the morning. It rained in Udhampur as well. In Kishtwar, there has been snowfall in the mountains along with rain. It rained in Samba district in the morning.
