Social Media Website Facebook can sell its WhatsApp and Instagram. In fact, the US Federal Trade Commission and 48 US states have filed a case against Facebook Inc. accusing Facebook of abusing its power to end market competition. After which Facebook may have to sell WhatsApp and Instagram.

Facebook allegations: Recent complaints accuse Facebook of buying its rivals. In 2012, the last acquisition of Instagram and the messaging app WhatsApp in 2014 are paying special attention. The federal and state regulators said that these acquisitions should be repealed. It could pose a protracted legal challenge since the FTC approved the deal a few years ago.

"Acquisitions are done to eliminate rivals": New York Attorney General Letitia James, on behalf of a coalition of 46 states and Washington, said, "for nearly a decade Facebook has used its dominoes and monopoly power to eliminate smaller rivals," James said the company acquired rivals before they could threaten the company's domination.

Google also filed the case: It has revealed that the US Department of Justice had earlier filed a case with Google in October. It had accused Google of acquiring the entire online search and advertising market.
