It’s almost 3 years since 2015, the social giant Google has been celebrating the Teachers' Day with a creative doodle. This year also Google dedicated the innovative doodle in the honor of educators on Wednesday, September 5, Teachers' Day 2018.

The Google doodle depicts a circling blue globe, with little circles all around denoting a variety of features of education.

Worth mention here since 1962, teachers' day is celebrated on the birthday of former vice president and then President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was second President of India from 1962 to 1967. Dr Radhakrishnan considered teachers as the best minds in the country.

On the eve of teachers' day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the recipients of National Teachers' Awards and congratulated them for their rigorous efforts towards improving the quality of education in the nation.

All the Schools across the country are celebrating the day with students and teachers.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on the 5th September, 1888. He served as a teacher at Chennai's Presidency College and Calcutta University. The interesting fact of the affection received by Dr Radhakrishnan from his students is that when he was leaving to take charge as a professor in Calcutta, a flower-decked cart was pulled by his students from the Mysore University to the railway station in his honor to see off him.

India celebrates Teachers' Day on September 5 while World Teacher's day, designated by UNESCO is observed on October 5 every year. (NT)
