Mumbai: Noted lyricist Javed Akhtar often gives opinions on political issues. Now a new tweet from Javed Akhtar has surfaced. In a tweet, he claimed to have 75 percent Rajput blood in Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. At the same time, he has given the example of former US President Barack Obama.

Javed Akhtar wrote in his tweet, "Obama's father was a resident of Kenya and his paternal aunt still lives in Kenya, but when Obama was born in the US, he got the right to contest for the presidency. Shah Jahan was also the fifth generation born in India and his grandmother and mother were Rajputanis. That is, 75 percent of his blood was Rajput, but people still speak of him as an outsider/foreigner.'' Now, a new debate has now started on Javed Akhtar's tweet. A Twitter called Chandrashekhar wrote, 'Because he (Shah Jahan) did not become a ruler of the people's will. While his ancestors forcibly seized power. So, we can never accept him as an Indian.'

Anupama, a Twitter user, wrote, 'Shah Jahan ordered the demolition of 76 under-construction temples in Varanasi. Similarly, his father Jehangir and his son Aurangzeb were also known for wreaking havoc on Hindus and destroying their temples.' Urmila, a Twitter user, writes, "Born in India, people have not been able to become Indians even in 2021, and they are talking about the 5th generation of Mughals, on the basis that her mother was a Hindu."
