Where Rajkummar Rao and his entire team of Newton is celebrating its victory of success, someone in the B-town is little upset. She is none another than Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka Chopra’s Marathi film Ventilator dashed as Newton was selected as India’s entry to Oscars. And if believed to DNA reports the actress had high hopes of Ventilator making it to Oscars.

Marathi film Ventilators' director Rajesh Mhapuskar has said that "I guess, Priyanka must be even more disappointed because she was always ambitious about the film. Had it been selected, she would have ensured that it was the most-talked-about film in the run to the Oscars. But unfortunately her all hopes drowned as Rajkumnmar Rao’s Newton hit at the list of Oscars entry.”

The filmmaker revealed that the entire team was eagerly awaiting the result on September 22. He recalled how Priyanka's mom Madhu Chopra was excited when she called him up the night before the verdict was announced, "I told her not to worry, assuring her that only the best film would make it. We were a bit disappointed when we learned about the verdict, the next day."The ventilator was among the 26 entries in the race to the Oscars.
