Today is rajinikanth's birthday, popularly known as 'Thalaiva' in the film industry. Rajinikanth is an actor whom many of his fans worship as a deity. Whatever film he comes to goes as a superhit. Not only that, he has also been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour. Once a porter and then a bus conductor, Rajni had to work hard to reach films and her hard work paid off. Rajinikanth became the biggest star of South India by doing many films like 'Enthiran' and 'Kala' year after year. After the release of Rajinikanth's film, the audience starts queuing up outside the theatres from night to watch the first show.

Let us also tell you that Rajinikanth, born in a Marathi family in Bengaluru, has his original name shivajirao gaikwad. Rajinikanth, who has been interested in sports since his school days, used to participate in the staging of plays at Ramakrishna Math in Bengaluru. After his father retired in 1956, the entire family moved to Hanumant Nagar in Bengaluru. Here Rajinikanth worked as a porter and then served as a conductor in Bangalore Transport Corporation buses. 

During that time, his monthly salary was only Rs.750. However, in the meantime, he did his acting course from the Madras Film Institute at the behest of his fellow driver and friend Raj Bahadur and the acting journey of this great artist from the film world began. He learnt to speak Tamil and buried his acting flags with his 1975 film 'Apoorva Rangangal'. He immediately became a shadow in both Tamil and Bollywood industries. So far Rajinikanth has been honoured with several awards from the film industry. The list includes honours like Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
