Son of Congressman Gurdeep Singh Nitu, Jatinderpal Singh aka Sunny beat Jagdeep Singh who injured in the attack on Thursday. He died in a CMC hospital late in the morning. After the death of Jagdeep, the Police Division filed a case on Sunny and his eight associates in the case of murder. Congress councilor Gurdeep Nitu too has been nominated for conspiracy. Until the police reached the residence of the Congressman Gurdeep Nitu, all the accused were absconding. Police have deployed security personnel outside the house.

After the death of Jagdeep in the entire police station area, the police personnel reached the deceased's house on Friday and talked about doing a post-mortem but the family did not agree during the funeral. The family clearly said that unless the accused is arrested, they will not allow for post-mortem and nor the funeral of Jagdeep's body. After this, people, relatives and localities went out to protest.

Jagdeep's family reached the police commissioner's office led by MLA Simarjit Singh and BJP leaders. They Met DCP Ashwani Kapoor. They got the assurance of complete action, but the relatives were sitting to meet the Commissioner of Police. Police commissioner Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill also spoke about the funeral by doing a postmortem of Jagdeep's body but the family did not agree. They gave a threat to the police to arrest the accused in twenty four hours.

During the meeting with the police commissioner, the families of Jagdeep alleged that the police station in charge had already given the complaint that Jagdeep life was in danger. But SHO Gurvinder Singh did not take any action. He said that even when Jagdeep was attacked, he continued to defend it instead of taking action and drinking tea water in his house. On this, Police Commissioner Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill suspended the station in-charge Gurvinder Singh with immediate effect.
