Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha took two months to acquire weight in order to play a voluptuous woman in her most recent film, "Double XL," but the hardest part was dropping those extra kilos.

Director Satram Ramani's "Double XL," which also features Huma Qureshi, is a movie on body positivity and self-love. The movie premiered on November 4.

Talking to media, Sonakshi discussed how her physique changed for the movie "Although it didn't take me long to gain weight in two months it took me a year to lose the weight I had gained. There are two approaches. Either you carry it out properly or you don't. I chose a healthier route, nevertheless."

Sonakshi has come full circle in her career; she began as a costume designer before making her acting debut in the Salman Khan film "Dabangg" in 2010. In the film, Sonakshi plays a fashion designer named Saira Khanna. She refers to the movie as her "life narrative."

The 35-year-old actress also revealed her mantra for handling body-shamers and trolls.

"You are likely to experience body shame no matter your size, whether you are short, tall, thin, fat, dark, or fair. People just ignore what they want to express when they speak. Invest your energies wisely "suggested Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, a seasoned actor.

The actress, who debuted her own cosmetics line in 2022, admitted that "Double XL" holds a special place in her heart.

The actress, who debuted with the tune "Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai" in 2015, continued, "It's a very personal film for me and I want to remind everyone that women get hammered for many things, but don't let anyone drag you back."
