New Delhi: After a shameful performance in the assembly elections held in five states, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi has said that a small group will be formed to look into every aspect that has caused a setback in the party's elections. She said this at an important meeting of the Working Committee, the congress's highest policy-making body, to consider the recent crushing defeat in the assembly elections and the situation of the corona epidemic.

She said, "We need to understand with an open mind why the Congress failed to remove the present governments in Kerala and Assam and why it could not open an account in West Bengal", she said in the CWC meeting. Sonia said that 'If we do not face reality, if we do not put the facts forward, we will not take the right lesson from defeat'. Sonia also attacked the Central government over the current epidemic. She said, the Union Government has shirked responsibilities in tackling the epidemic and has put the responsibility of vaccination on the States.

Sonia expressed concern over the third possible wave of corona in the meeting and said the Modi government is running away from responsibilities and has brushed aside the vaccination obligations on all states.
