New Delhi: Amidst the increasing incidents of rape of women in different parts of the country, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that she will not celebrate her birthday on Monday, because she is very hurt by these incidents. On Monday, Sonia Gandhi will turn 73. Sources informing the media that Congress president is saddened by various incidents of rape in different parts of the country and that is why she will not celebrate her birthday on Monday.

This decision of Sonia has come after the Unnao rape victim was set on fire and she died in a hospital in Delhi. Earlier, a doctor was murdered in Hyderabad after setting the fire. Many cases of crime against women have also come to light from different parts of the country and there is a wave of anger in the country about these incidents.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy also reacted to the increasing incidents of rape. BJP MP Subramanian said, 'The increasing incidents of misdeeds are due to tolerance of corrupt leaders. Those politicians who did misconduct or raped or murdered, even if this has been proved in Prima facia, they should be avoided.'
